Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
We offer a variety of health insurance options, including Marketplace, Medicaid, and Medicare plans. No matter your stage of life or financial situation, we have a plan to meet your healthcare needs.
Choosing the right health plan depends on your unique needs, budget, and eligibility. To explore your options, consider factors like the type of coverage you need (Marketplace, Medicare, or Medicaid), available benefits, and provider networks. You can learn more by visiting our plan websites or contacting the appropriate Member Services team for general information. While they can’t choose a plan for you, they can provide details to help you make an informed decision.
We're more than a health insurance provider—we're a partner in your well-being. With over $7.5 million reinvested into Arizona communities across the entire state, we support programs addressing housing, food insecurity, and other needs.
Marketplace Insurance
Marketplace insurance is designed for individuals and families who do not have employer-sponsored coverage. Eligibility is based on your household size, income, and other factors. It’s a great option for self-employed individuals or those between jobs.
Marketplace plans offer comprehensive coverage, including preventive care, prescription drug benefits, laboratory services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, mental health support, and more. We also provide additional perks like rewards for healthy living!
Getting covered is easier than you think. You can enroll in a Marketplace plan during the annual Open Enrollment Period or if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a major life event, like getting married or changing jobs. Open Enrollment runs from November 1 to January 15—sign up by December 15 for coverage starting January 1, 2026, or enroll between December 16 and January 15 for coverage starting February 1, 2026. Have questions? We’re here to help make the process simple and hassle-free.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program for low-income children, adults, seniors, and people with disabilities. Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) has the exclusive authority to enroll members. Eligibility depends on factors like income, household size, and health needs.
Our Medicaid plans are available statewide, providing coverage to all Arizonans, whether you live in rural communities, metro areas, or within our Tribal communities.

You have the freedom to choose the Medicare coverage that best fits your needs. Your two main options are Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage (Part C), which includes additional benefits. To learn more about Medicare basics and what’s included, visit Medicare Basics | Wellcare.
